I read many different terms, glide, slickness, etc.. Can somebody elaborate on this for me?

It's pretty simple really. You want something that has good lube for the razor, lathers up easily, makes a substantial lather, comes off easily. That's pretty much it. The rest is scent and packaging and pedigree which is what pushes the cost up. Some soaps (or creams) don't lather easily or are finicky with water quality or temperature or have thin lather, no lube, some folks have reactions to or contain natural products or products said to be good to the skin. Of course these qualities come in degrees and some preparations have some of the good qualities but not others. That's what makes some better than others.
Many of the other qualities are not definable or are names for the same thing.
That's how I see it. I'm sure others will chime in with other opinions. No matter how many men you kill you can't kill your successor-Emperor Nero
