Thread: Four months and counting...

...since a cartridge razor has defiled my face!

Granted about 2.5 of them were with a shavette, it still is traditional wetshaving. And I am not looking back!

When I first put the shavette to my face, I had some difficulty holding the blade in my hand to get at an awkward area on my face. So prior to the second week of December, I used a cartridge to get those areas. But with practice as well as testing with an empty shavette, I learned a good way to hold it and the best position for the scales.

Now as many know, I had some issues with stropping when I first got the razor. Did not roll the edge to the best of my knowledge. But Stropping along did not get the edge back. So I put the razor away for a couple weeks and went back to the shavette. Well, I got some CrOX as well as watching Lynn's video on using CrOX (as well as a 12k Naniwa) for edge refreshing. And Voila! My Ralf Aust shaves wonderfully.

Today, I got a 3pass BBS smooth shave every bit as good as my shavette with a Feather or Gillette yellow! I tell ya, that Aust just gets better every time I shave with it!!
