A few things in this life has brought me the peace , relaxation and enjoyment that the whole straight razor shaving "sport"has, maybe only exceeded by my passion for my family and smoking and collecting fine cigars.( and maybe not in that order.)

I can , with all the confidence admit that this hobby has made me a better person, has made me more organize, more carefull and gentle with things.

I developed a care and love for something else..and i believe that the more we love the better persons we become, regardless what it is.

I don't mean to sound like i hug trees for a living...but nothing else has brought me closer to what buddist call "zen" than this method of shaving. They discribe it as being focused in one thing only, and the more time you spend in this mental state the better you feel afterwards because the rest you gave your mind...from this point of view this sounds like a healthy adiction...
This is what i believe the great lynn refers in his video with his own words that he "starts the day with a different frame of mind" ( by the way i love that dvd).

Also the proudness( if there is such a word) that i have felt after succesfully getting a really good shave with the straight is uncomparable.

I really understand now when people talk about the nostalgia of this great art...

Anyway, i think this "reflexion" is more than that ..more like a declaration of love to the straight razor.... i just read my post and i think i sound a little crazy...sorry...anybody knows of a 12 step program for shavers...one whisker at a time...
Be well gents!!!!!
