Default Steam VS Gas VS Straight VS DE

Tonight I returned home from a show helping a friend with his 1/3 scale model 1915 Case tractor. That thing is more work than the full size ones!

I started comparing steam engines to straights and the main thing I get out of that at the moment is that the operator has to think and pay attention.

Then gas engines along with DE's. Turn the key and you go.....

    Your thoughts?

Interesting thought... my experience is limited I have only been using a straight a year and DE even less than that. I would tend to agree though that yes when I use my DE I can just shave and not have to put too much effort into it I guess, but with my straights I pay more attention. A 1/3 scale case would be neat to see! At a pumpkin patch this weekend with my family they had a smaller like 11hp Farmall just a tractor that looked as though it was left in the dryer too long! Cutest little thing ever. Sorry for the side track interesting post 32t

The steam is better because you get a cool whistle along with that type of propulsion :<0)
Oh and like a straight the cool factor is much higher. Everybody knows what they are but can't understand why or how to use one but they envy you a little because you do.

Good judgment comes from experience, and experience....well that comes from poor judgment.

I used to work at a college that the power plant was at the end of the football field.

We had to blow the whistle at each home teams score...
