The First Ever SRP Movember Auction - 2016
About that Auction site...
Fellow MoBros and MoSistas
During last years Movember I received a donation and a note from a MoSista – someone from my circle of work friends…
Karina’s message to you:
Such a great way to support research for men's health issues. My father had prostate cancer and all I can say is F*ck Cancer so I donate at every opportunity... thank you Mark for doing this!
This inspired me to do more.
In the past I have donated/purchased items at auction to raise money for a cause and thought that this was something the SRP community could do.
Traded notes with Ed and had calls and meetings with the Movember team (they are all great BTW) and the result is our first go at a SRP Movember Auction/Fundraiser…
The Basics…
Maybe the best way to explain this is by example…
I would list a razor on the Movember Auction Block for auction.
The time limit could be days, weeks or to the end of Movember, but for this example lets use “Auction ends 12 NOV 16 at Midnight CST (UTC – 6:00)
The winner gets notified, pays by PayPal and his/her item is shipped. (I will be using USPS Priority)
I would make a donation to Movember of the proceeds…
If a member did not have a Movember page (and why would you not?) they could donate to the SRP Movember Team (Link will get you to the global team or your country of choice)
Suggestions
It is the SRP forum so we are thinking shaving stuff…SR, DE, Brushes..but hey, its our first..
To keep it simple we having the person who collects the money make the donation to Movember
We are open to suggestions for time limits
“Proceeds” would be the auction value less postage and insurance
And we are raising money for a great cause so let us all keep that in mind if/when things get crazy.
We can load items now but the earliest deadline should be 1 NOV, bidding can start as soon as it is listed.
The SRP community has always been a true community - the best that the Internet has to offer - and we know this will be great.
Ed and I thank you for your time and patience as we kick this off.Support Movember!

Thanks Mike, we are all new at this one.
And the brush idea is great.
Remember that you could put something in the auction at the last day..(hint hint..)
Check out the Movember Auction Block in the Classifieds - http://straightrazorpalace.com/class...cat.php?cat=15 and see if it makes sense.
I have no doubt that the creative minds out there are spinning up their own ideas..
Let's do this...Support Movember!

I'm going to do a similar raffle to Mark for the South African wet shaving community and hopefully raise a bob or two.

Fyi, I joined SRP-USA.

This great cause is one of very few things that will get me to log into my dusty social media account each year ! I get on Facebook & promote it, at least minimally, to my family. The men of my family are not overly inclined to seek medical attention for anything that requires less than three stitches, etc...Decades away from full-beard growing abilities.
