I've been using Alum after every shave since I started DE & SR8 shaving 1 year ago. Also found out that a local Indian grocery store sells it for $2 AUD instead of the $20 - $35 online...less expensive when you drop and shatter them.

Nope.
Never have. Just clear cold water, occasionally, an after shave.
