    Default 7 day case

I think I have mentioned that my son is studying to be a sadddler; he's doing a case making course as part of this to learn traditional techniques. His project for this part of the course has been to make a seven day case for an ebay set that I bought (Mappin & Webb, ivory scales).

It's brown shoulder hide, lined with a two toned Liberty silk. This case is a prototype, and he's supposed to make another one in black leather with a different lining, also Liberty silk. The spot on the top surface is a blemish in the leather that should have been fixed. We didn't have the razors to hand, so I dropped in two Wapienicas (the only ones that I have that match the dimensions of the original set).

I haven't done attachments before, so I hope these come through.

    I wish!

Well, I think it's basically mine, but has to be handed in for course assessment, so I have no idea how long it will be before he gets it back. I'd like to see him make the second model, with improvements from what he learned making this one.

That will give me the incentive I need to get the full set of seven very nice razors shave-ready. The scales are in nice condition, just a couple of them with cracks; the blades are wedges - they look clean, but have a string of microchips along every edge, so they'll take a while to clean up.

I'll post more pics when I get both the case and the razors in the same place at once.

That's nice - I like the domed lid.

    Well done!

I've been meaning to ask him why he designed it with a dome :-).
