    Default London

Tommarow at 9pm I will be traveling to London to stay for 6-8 weeks. I know of the major barber shops like taylors, but I was wondering if there are some flea markets or what not at which I could pick up some nice old razors.

Also, any sites I have to see other than the obvious (bigben, the palace, the museums, the tower)?

I'll be traveling from Kings Cross to Trafalgar square daily.

The Tower is almost a whole day, but well worth it.
Westminster Abbey was very cool. I had no idea how many artists were there with all the old kings and queens.
The George (Southwark) is a very cool pub for those with literary inclinations and even those without. Check out Borough Market while you're there.
I'm sorry we missed Camden with a ride down the Lock, and I wish we could have spent more time in Covent Garden.
Skip the Palace. It's a zoo!

    Agree with what X says.

Camden Market used to be a traditional flea-market, but some years ago became expensive, overcrowded, and full of modern/new tat to sell. However, still worth a visit. I have yet to find a cheap antiques fair where you can find shaving paraphernalia though.

London Zoo has a new section where you walk through the new Gorilla enclosure where no bars separate you from the big Silverbacks. Just a little manmade stream (apparently they hate water). It's supposed to be quite an experience.

The London Eye will give you a unique view of London. The 'flight' as they call it lasts 30 mins. If you start there and then walk down the South Bank towards the East it's one of the most pleasant walks you can do. You'll come across pubs, restaurants, antique book stalls, shops, the Royal Festival Hall, etc. and would eventually end up by the new Globe (Shakespeare) theatre (see X's posts in Off Topic with photos).

There's so much to do you'll probably fill your 8 weeks, but in general I advise you eat, drink and be merry!

There's an antiques shop in Hampstead on a lovely little street called "Flask Walk" just off the High Street. The area is well worth a visit, as is the shop on a weekend when I've seen razors and honing stones before.
I'm sure a google maps search of "Flask Walk, Hampstead, London" will show you where to go.
