How to sharpen a clipper blade?
Hi
this is not really related with razors but i need to find out how to sharpen a clipper blade for my dog. as it's warming day after the day, i need to cut hairs of my dog otherwise there is too much hair on the floor, in the carpet etc.
i have a clipper, i was using since last year, but today i tried to work with it, it cuts nearly nothing. also i searched on google, and tried some tips on a hone, and nothing changed. so if you guys have any knowledge to do it, i will appreciate.

Have you oiled and adjusted the clippers? This can make a big difference.

yes did it. my dog has very thick hair which makes to cut them difficult. well i just shaved it with a safety straight razor like this
it was ok, also it was quicker then the clipper. just i needed to change 4 blades.

Sharpening clippers ain't always possible. Many clippers' cutting edges are coated with diamonds or something else. That hard layer will wear off with use and expose a much softer metal that cannot be sharpened.
You will have to ask the manufacturer or the retailer. High-end manufacturers sometimes have a sharpening service.
Last year I tried to sharpen my Bosch garden clippers. I managed to get a sharp edge on them again but it didn't last long.Plus ça change, plus c'est la même chose. Jean-Baptiste Alphonse Karr.
