I’ve learned:
*That life is hard.
*That you cannot trust all family members when lawyers and or wills are involved
*There ARE good people out there, you just have to find them
*That life is too short
*Who my true friends are - during my Dad’s illness I was watching him 24 hours a day, drinking 5 hour energy shots to do it. My friend from high school found out and volunteered to watch him overnight so I could get some rest. (We thought it was Alzheimer’s, even nurses that came to the house, but it was his heart.)
*The 9 scariest words are “I’m from the government, and I’m here to help”
*Not all Doctors know what they’re talking about. - I had a Doctor who quit seeing me as a patient because I was trying CBD oil. He claimed it was “marijuana”, it is actually hemp and doesn’t have THC in it.
I could write a book lol

Sounds like we’ve learned VERY similar things in the past 5. My brother didn’t even let me know when he was burying my dad... then he put my mom in a home, and stole all the proceeds of her home sale. Yup.
Aside from that though, I used a Feather DE for a couple of years and learned that it can be quite pleasurable, and provides a great shave! Just sucks if you love to hone. I’ve also given up trying to get a bbs shave with my straights. It’s hard enough with a DE that I can put sideways on my neck, but with a straight it’s too much work. This in fact has made my straight shaves way better/pleasurable.
Finally - even after ten years, there’s still a slew of soaps worth trying!
Welcome back! Remember, your straight might slice you up, but it’ll do it in your face. Unlike family, it’ll never stab you in the back lol! Happy shaving!Last edited by earcutter; 10-19-2018 at 11:54 AM.

Sounds like it.
During probate I was told I had 3 months to move from the house I'd inherited. My brother & I both tried asking the probate attorney questions only to get the cold shoulder. He would talk to my sister who was the executor. I lost a $10k inheritance. At close of probate the attorney had not filed up to date paperwork, omitting my name. I’d checked three days prior to closing and saw the error and consulted my own attorney. When I stood up in court and asked that the papers be amended the attorneys jaw hit the floor. When I got home my brother received an email stating I was being “greedy”.
Yep, I think we’ve been to the same school of hard knocks.
Clarification: the House was not the 10k inheritance I was referring to. I was able to retain the house, although it is quickly turning into a money pit.Last edited by freebird; 10-19-2018 at 09:47 PM. Reason: Clarification

Yea, old hat and common knowledge. When parents pass there is a mad scramble for anything negotiable and more families have been broken up by this than anything else regardless if there is a will or not.
