Sounds like we’ve learned VERY similar things in the past 5. My brother didn’t even let me know when he was burying my dad... then he put my mom in a home, and stole all the proceeds of her home sale. Yup.

Aside from that though, I used a Feather DE for a couple of years and learned that it can be quite pleasurable, and provides a great shave! Just sucks if you love to hone. I’ve also given up trying to get a bbs shave with my straights. It’s hard enough with a DE that I can put sideways on my neck, but with a straight it’s too much work. This in fact has made my straight shaves way better/pleasurable.

Finally - even after ten years, there’s still a slew of soaps worth trying!
