Well folks, I have an invention that one of you you guys should make. How about a metal polish with an antiseptic mixed in?! That way I won’t have to worry every time I slip this square tip Boker into my middle finger.

You have a point (pun intended). Traditional wet shavers are an innovative lot. You are obviously thinking out of the box.

I have the same worry every time I try polishing a blade. Normally, I lay the blade on a flat surface (like you would when honing it). That way, the bevel is against the surface and I can polish the blade without it fear of having a close encounter with the edge. You can always use a Q-tip for application of the polish, but the tip area is so small, I often use a cotton pad used for removing cosmetics.

Or just use a Kevlar glove in place of a rag? Just dip the fingers in the cream and polish away!
