Nicely done X! ( We need a smiley removing his hat as if to say "My hats off to you Sir!)

Of course in real life you would have been toast!

I have no other input on this really but I thought I would throw in this soap I saw on the forum through a thread that Kees started on.

Unscented soap with seed oils and such. It is supposedly very slick for the face. Don't know if anyone has tried it.

I assume stainless might be a good option for a straight, hollow and not to big, Light scales. Wondering about unscented, biodegradable soap and anything else useful you might think up. Yeah, some might say why shave in the backcountry, and while I might not bother on a three day, I'd much prefer it on longer hikes. I would just feel better. I look forward to ideas, suggestions, experience from anybody who shaves in the wilderness.
I find that after about three days growth I must shave or the prickly stubble bothers me to the point where sleeping is a challenge. So when I am "out there" where no one can see me... as long as nobody is around..... I use...........

    a battery operated electric shaver!!!!!

Good thing the trees can't talk!

It solves the stubble problem taking it from about three days growth all the way to only one days growth (as a straight shaver judges such things). It doesn't leave any tasty smells for the wildlife. it is lighter than a bar of soap, or a damp brush, or a belt for stropping on. Mine was like ten bucks runs on two AA batterys and gives a sucky shave. It is good enough to get rid of the stubble discomfort though.
