Thanked: 9810 days to Janus
Just got the note that the Janus razor will go for live sales beginning the 30th. A 500 dollar price tag for the first 400 sold and going up from there. Can't help but wonder if it is going to be worth the place I have set for it next to my toggle. But, I will be grabbing one. Any thoughts welcome.

Thanked: 3224What something is worth it or not is for the buyer to determine. At the price of $670 Canadian dollars for the first 400 it is more than I am willing to spend but that is just me. I'll stick with my gold toggle that cost 1/10th the price.

The thing is you spend a king's ransom for this razor and you don't even know how well it shaves. It's a real leap of faith.
That's 500 for the basic finish the fancier ones will be more as I understand it.
I don't know that Kickstarter is the best venue for a luxury item. Most folks want bargains there. I realize he has no risk there but he has to sell the minimum and that might be difficult. No matter how many men you kill you can't kill your successor-Emperor Nero

Looked up Janus razors and they are based in Woodbury Minnesota. Pretty cool. I hope he succeeds.

My impression when I read this is that the future price should go down with volume not up.

Keep in mind since this is going on kickstarter there could be a long wait for this.
