Thanked: 324Whenever you think of shaving or razors, you automatically picture straight razors and brushes and consider this normal. You forgot that most people use some sort of disposable blade and shudder when you do think about scraping your face, covered with Barbasol or Edge with one of those things. Fortunately, this thought flees quickly from your mind because it's not really shaving.

very interesting and insightful view of the situation. I think I would put myself at "settled" as it now is a normal part of my daily routine and I don't pay it much mind. I don't think I've bought any shaving stuff in at least 6 months, and I most likely have enough soap and cream to last me 10 years if not more. It's a comfortable place to be. I dunno that I'll ever make the leap to collector, I spent my first 6 months of shaving time with a single razor, and even though I have half a dozen now, I almost never use more than 3 of them regularly.

Another year on and I'm still Seasoned, but more Beyond Procedure now whereas I was more Settled before. And my delusions of Mastery in the form of Pearls of wisdom are diminishing.
Thanks for the bump. I can certainly see that my perspective at least is progressing.

Hey, wait a minute...
I was reading the list and saying to myself, "yeah, I was that for awhile! Yeah, then I was like that! Yeah, yeah yeah right!" and then farther on I found myself thinking, "no wait, that's not an advanced stage, I was like that all the time. I think I was. Was I? What is this guy talking about? Huh?"
