Thanked: 3Seeking Razor Restorer - Australia
G'day,
Looking for someone within Australia who would be interested in some cash work
Wanting to get various work done on various razors
Bleckmann - Needs about 5-7mm taken off the whole edge due to some chips. hone/sharpen (been told this might not be salvageable, looking for other opinions? Blade width is 7/8 but will be around 11/16 if ground past the chips)
The following are blades only and want scales made (will supply timber (currently cut into 50x50x200 blanks), a 3mm bit of brass plate for wedge and brass pin kit w/ washers etc)
Taylor Witness - polish, hone, sharpen
Bengall - polish, hone, sharpen
SINFONIE - polish, hone, sharpen
Random German razor
Some have a bit of wear on them from when purchased. Hopefully all are salvageable?
Thanks!Last edited by Gimli; 12-30-2019 at 12:05 PM.

Thanked: 3215Yea, the Bleakman will be iffy. Was that impact damage, do you know? If so, real Iffy.
The Flic looks to have Cell Rot kicking off. Too bad, those were gorgeous scales in the day, now notorious for cell rot. Rusty pins are also an indicator. You can see dark rot spots on the blade that match up with spots on the scales, you might be able to save the blade, hard to say.
The blades look ok, will clean up and need some reprofiling. The last German looks the worst with some deep pitting, that may have to stay.
Not sure who in Australia is doing work, someone will pop up.
