How much of this is to do with the stabilizer I don't know, obviously the German makers felt that you needed the stabilizer there but I think a shoulderless grind is superior.
    I totally agree on the shoulderless.

    I did watch a load of Ken Hawley films yesterday, really interesting.. Started off with films on Laguiole knives
