    Default Fusion Barber Shave

I really couldn't believe it. I was at the Taste of Colorado, which is a gathering of all kinds of people, cutting across the socio-economic spectrum, and there it was. Gillette's Fusion 18 wheeler trailer, showing videos, giving away razors,

    AND OFFERING "FREE BARBER SHAVES"

My wife had to hold me back from going over there and erasing the "BARBER" from the white board, and writing in "CRAPPY"

What is sad, is all the people in the photo are in line to get that free shave.

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa! Pathetic! I wonder if they actually had a licensed barber......

I will, on occasion, get a str8 shave at Floyds, but they are required by law to use a shavette/disposable blade. Still, the staff there are mostly barbers, not "stylists"...and the one in the Tech Center only has 2 male barbers I've seen. My barbers are Meridith and Bianca....very nice shaves. At the one on Leetsdale, there is the Russian barber Semyon...excellent haircuts, great shaves....he even asks "Do you want an against the grain pass today?" I believe he was a barber in the Russian army. (sort of hijacked my own post...)....anyway, there is no reason for Gillette to be handing out that crap....other than they are so expensive in the stores that people are thrilled to get them for free.

RRRRRRRRRRRRRR...I thought Coloradans had better sense....

That guy from shaveblog was invited to the press release of the Gillette "Phantom" (a fusion, but with a black handle, wow!), there he also got a "barber shave", which you can see in this video
. The shave itself starts at 4:23 (the video up until then is worth watching too though). My guess is that the girl wasn't hired for her experience shaving people...

OH, I forgot to mention that this "Barber" shave was with that canned goop from Gillette, no hot towel.

Same as in the video then. Although perhaps they didn't go straight for the ATG in Colorado.

Might I say also that he had more than a few days of growth on that face.

    Greg,

I like Floyd's, but have never had a shave there. I go to the Folyd's off 16th street mall because it is two blocks from where I live, but I typically used the Downtown barber right next door to support the small business owner. He gives a great haircut, but stopped giving shaves because no one wanted to buy a shave. I asked him about it and he was taken back but had no disposable blade razors to use. What are you doing in Denver if you live in Castlerock? Do you commute into town? Where do you work?

That shave that she was giving was painful just to watch. Nice video to watch.

    An act of desperation.
