Hope you did not take the temper out of that part of the razor using a dremel tool. In any event a 1K should do the job if you are patient enough. I have a DMT diamond plate, 320 I think, for lapping my Naniwa hones and use that for things like reshaping the heel of a razor.

A 600 and a 1K Chosera although I understand that they call them Professional Stones now.

It is a 600 to remove chips etc isn't it, or is it an 800?

The 600 is fine for removing chips but as Bob said the 1k will work easy enough. As you found out a dremel is ott for reprofiling a heal, again as Bob said a diamond hone works perfectly.

I have the credit card size 325 DMT for reprofiling, takes minutes to sort a heel.

Those credit card sized DMT hones are also good for raising slurry. Some folks worry they may release diamond residue into the slurry, but I think you’d have to rub with a lot of pressure to do that.

As Mark said, they are ideal for reprofiling a heel and taking nasty chips out.

I keep my Dremel, even when just buffing, as far from the edge as I can.

The first time I used my dremmel on a razor I kept it far from the edge too until the tool seemed to have a mind of its own and hit the edge. It moved so fast I couldn't stop it. Luckily I was wearing eye protection cause that shard bounced right off my goggles. Also luckily it was an eboy special practice razor.

    Is this a hastings lens?

    Yes it's hastings lens.
