Yep, ^^^^^. That's the one I have too. You just need bright light to go with it.

My first loupe was a cheapie, but the vision wasn't too clear and edges were rounded. I soon realized that quality optics were needed to get a good clear look at the bevel and edge. The Belomo loupe is a great bit of kit.

I've learned, over the years not to play games with optics. I buy the best I can afford. With good optics the device you are using actually disappears and it's as if it was your eyes seeing it without any help. If you've ever looked through a really good pair of Binos you know what I mean.

I have a 10x magnifier I bought from Deutsche Optics years ago as well as a Zeiss hand lens which is about 15x. Superior resolution always trumps increased magnification.

I decided to get a loupe from Amazon because i can easily return it if I'm not pleased with it so I don't have anything to lose.

I spent more on this than I have ever spent on a loupe, but not as much as I could have spent and if I'm dissappointed with this one I will spend more, a Belissimo cost double and a Hastings are really expensive. I would have to wait for those arrive plus import and delivery charges.



This loupe is made of 3 lenses which are color corrected, Achromatic, aplanatic and Antireflective; which allows you to magnify the object you are looking out without distorting the image. These loupes feature a rubber grip which allows you to comfortably hold the loupe in your hands and is soft to the touch.

I hope this will be good but as I said, there's nothing to lose by trying it because Amazon returns are easy.

It cost me $44 with tax so it's not a cheapie, fingers crossed eh. Coming tomorrow or Satuday.

Steve, I just purchased the Belomo 10x loupe from Amazon and it was about the same price as the one you have bought. It came from a Canadian reseller within a few days via Canada Post.

I have a USB microscope, a wi-fi microscope, a handheld magnifier, a Carson microscope with LED and another plastic illuminated loupe. The Belomo provides the best view of the bevel by far. For honing purposes, it’s the best of all the magnifiers I own.

The microscopes actually provide too much magnification and too narrow a field of view to allow easy scanning of the entire edge without losing the view of the edge. They are also a pain to focus as any slight movement of the razor or my hand requires a focus change. The other magnifiers are OK, but the image is distorted and the colour is off.

The only thing that I have been using for a very long time is the Belomo 10x loupe.

Yes, as stated, it's that good.

Belomo seems to be the most highly recommended.

If the one that's coming tomorrow or Saturday is unsatisfactory I'll send it back and get the Belomo 10X.

How much did it cost you David, my Amazon with Prime sells it for $45 + tax plus $5.85 import fees.
