No razor in carry on...guess I'll bus it
I just turned down a one hour flight in favour of a 5 hour bus ride because of the condition of no check in luggage.
Since I can't bring my razor as carry on they can't bring me.

it must be a Canadian rule. I have flown in the USA with my straights checked at least 200 - 250 times in the last 2 years and never once had a problem...as long as they were checked...I did accidentally try to carry one on once and the police didnt care for that much...but that is a whole other story lol

When I bussed it from Elko to Reno, it definitely had its share of characters...
1) One dude from LA was taken straight out of Fresh Prince.. I didn't know what I found funnier, the jokes or the accent.
2) Some old dude with mental issues (lots of unintelligible talking to himself) went into the restroom and wouldn't come out. Some other dude got so desperate that he started bangin' on the door.
3) A couple of strippers to spice things up
4) Some woman who let her kid dressed only in diapers run around all over the place and pick random junk up off the ground (like cigarette butts).

Man, good thing he didnt get caught....you have no idea how long it took me to convince the police and TSA that I actually shave with it. They even tried a few scare tactics on me like taking me to a little room and made me sit there for a while during questioning, but I am rather well taken care from my company in these situations so I didnt budge...they eventually got tired and frustrated and let me check the bag with the razor. I did miss my original flight though.

Josh -- I took what Creel said to mean the flight didn't accommodate checkin luggage at all on that flight? Ie, it was a puddle jumper flight... probably a small turbo prop that got some freight to carry that took up all of their "luggage" space. Then again, I could be wrong.
Ilija -- ummm you were in Nevada, right? What exactly did your friend think he needed a machete for... killing snakes? Hmmm ... good size rattler 6 feet, good sized machete 2 feet.
