    Default interesting bit of history

As I was googling today, looking for information on Joseph Mappin & Brothers "lancet edge razor" and similar things... i came across "History, Gazetteer and Directory of the West-Riding of Yorkshire, with the City of York and Port of Hull;...." by William White, 1837, it is 2 volumes but i think only volume one is on-line... it is a free download of 40mb or so.

Some interesting history and tax tables but the listing of razor makers around page 200 or so is nice... there are several "Cutlers" listings and some people appear in different categories... but there are lots of familiar names there. there are even listings for "horn scale presser and cutters" around p205.
you can easily search the one online but not the downloaded one.

just some interesting, to me, history. The moderators can free free to move this to a different place. Of course, everybody else probably knew about the document that i just found... such is life.
