Scuba shave
Now, I can't scuba dive, and have limited access to large quantities of water, but everybody in the world says that water is the most important part of a shave.
So I was thinking.
Has anybody shaved whilst underwater.(obviously there is no lather going on here)
This would avoid my problem of skin drying out after ther razor has taken lather off and is waiting for the next lather.

I used to shave in the shower , but that was with a mach 3 or sensor , or whatever it was that I used to shave with . As far as shaving underwater with a str8 goes , give it a try and let us know how it turns out .

shaving in salt water....ouch...and bad for the razor.....might be a good form of torture though.

Ah, I hadn't thought about the salt. I guess it would need to be a strictly fresh water experiment!
I guess it would be fairly easy to try with a cartridge razor just by submerging yourself in the bath, I can't see that with a straight though!
Guess the experiment is doomed to fail. haha

I've shaved with a DE in the shower but never completely submerged. That would be taking our hobby to new extremes lol

Thanked: 0Wife shaves legs under water in tub with Mach. She says it helps with the razor burn.

Sounds like a plan.
The winner must be the one that doesn't get eaten by a shark!

Thanked: 1Here are a few issues I see with underwater shaving:
1. I sure wouldn't want something as sharp as a straight razor right next to my regulator hoses! Unless you're planning on taking the regulator out of your mouth while shaving (and maybe putting it back between strokes), you're going to have to shave around the regulator's hose line. The one advantage here is that the mouthpiece has the effect of pushing your cheeks/lips out a little, so maybe this will help with skin stretching!
2. If you nick yourself, it won't just sting in the salt water, but will also attract sharks. But - at least you'll have a straight razor to defend yourself with.
3. You have a facemask on - looking to the sides or down will be very difficult. Therefore it will be hard to see where you're actually shaving. Possible advantage though - most dive masks cause everything to appear magnified in the water. So maybe when you look into the mirror (that your dive buddy is presumably holding) everything will look bigger and therefore it will be easier to shave.
4. Some people say barracuda are attracted to shiny objects - I hope you don't have a polished blade!
Goodluck with the experiment!!
