    Default Home making bay rum

I have come across a few recipes on the web about making your own bay rum aftershave.
Has anybody actually tried to make it?
Is it at all comparable to the commercial scents we use?
I would love to try this, but I am a bit unsure if it will be a waste of time, money and nice alcohol.

There was a thread about it a while ago. It's not that difficult although it most likely won't smell like the commercial stuff.

    Get some Bay leaves..
Get some Vodka (the cheaper the better)
    Get some Aloƫ Vera

    Put leaves in vodka
    soak for long time

Add any other scents you like with EO's

    Soak for long time
    Add AV

    done.

Also if you're in for something new....add peppermint oil to the mixture. It'll feel amazing and smell really fresh at first...then the mint smell vaporizes quite fast and leaves you with the Bay smell.
