Default So happy I made the step

I've been shaving for...about 2.5 years now with a straight.

This morning it took me half an hour to shower, shave and get ready for work......just as long as when I used my M3 in the olden days.

However....I was failry surprised after using my freshly honed TI 7/8 on a 3 days beard that when I put my Aloë and alcohol aftershave on my face it didn't sting......at ALL.

I had to check by scent whether it really was my aftershave......

And then to think that I used to burn for half a day after shaving.......and still didn't have a smooth face afterwards.

Reminds me of my M3 days - thank God that dark period is behind me now!! Razor burn and daily ingrown hairs is a thing of the past now.

Straights have been really kind to my face. When I was first getting into straight shaving I wasn't so sure things would get as good as a DE or SE blade, but they sure did.
Plus, as you said, I can splash on AS of any kind and it feels great, no sting.
I never, ever get so much as a weeper with my straights, which is nice. I've been dealing with a tough beard and girly skin for too long and even Mach 3's would rough me up a little bit.
