    Default Quick question

    On the home page there are three photo's. What are the razors in the middle image. Are they old feathers and do they have a www. Cheers Chop

    Those are Japanese straights. They are beveled on only one side of the blade. Tosuke seems to be one of the more famous marques. These are supposed to be somewhat more difficult to hone. They do not fold. The only one I have seen in person was a Tosuke and struck me as very cool but smaller than I had guessed it would be.

    Hi...Thanks for that, what a fantastic bit of kit. Love to try one one day but they look like a bugger to hone and probably strop. I suppose they strop these puppies. By the way best signature I've seen, always makes me chuckle.

    Thanks! Yes, they supposedly strop just like their Western counterparts (not supposed to be hard). I have heard that they're interesting to shave with, too. I guess it feels strange to shave with one side concave side and one flat side - but, both sides are usually used.
