Thanked: 1I read the little blurb in Esquire and I agree that this guy is full of you know what, does he really want us to believe that he just picked up a straight razor, without any laerning curve whatsoever, shaved with it for a few weeks and then returned to using a mach 3. I personally do not believe it. Although I was fortunate in that I never really cut myself when learning to shave with a straight, it still took longer than a couple of weeks to get great shaves, and we all know the tremendous sense of pride we felt when we started to shave with a straight exclusively,, having mastered something few men do, once I started shaving with a straight that was it, now I would rather skip a shave than shave with something other than a straight.

Thanked: 1One more thing,,,, Esquire has turned into such a radically left wing magazine, featuring none other than Sean ( I hate America ) Penn on a recent cover. it's really sad that it's become so political. and in case your wondering I read the blurb while waiting for my wife in the Doctor's office.

My guess is he did use a straight for two weeks, he did have it properly honed, and he did strop it daily prior to use. He also probably got himself a good brush and learned how to use it, then wrote nice little piece on straight razor shaving. Then the editors got hold of it....
