Thread: Titles of members next to their avatars

Where to to titles for members come from/mean next to the members avatars?

Mine is obvious, "Junior Member", I'm a newbie to str8 shaving and I only have about 5 posts.

But I have seen "banned user" and was wondering what this means and some of the other titles.

Just curious.

You can edit your title so some people choose their own. Banned user would mean someone who came one and started trouble and got kicked off. I have only run across 2 of those since October.

Once you get to a certain number of post, you can change your user title in the user CP. Most of them are self explanatory, Moderator is one of the forum mods, etc. Then the ones with a smiley face are in the blabbermouth group. The have over 1000 post I think it is to join that group.

Also, I think the defaults are Junior Member is 0-25 posts; Member is 25-99; and Senior Member is 100+ posts if you don't change your user name in the CP.

When you first set up your account, you should have gotten a screen that allowed you to customize this. I know I did....

This might have changed after the database failure as I was able to change mine with only 1 post... (well, it could have been 2 posts)...

I should go ahead and self-add a blabbermouth group one as most ppl who know me would classify me as such...

Aww, I JUST hit 100 posts (this is 101!) and noticed I was a Senior Member. I was SOOOO surprised and thrilled- like I finally made it and what a reward!!






until I read this thread..........and discovered I'm not as special as I thought. Oh well, my Mommy says I'm special.....

Does the forum penalize anyone for posts without substance (like this one of mine) just to improve one's status??

I think, thinking extra posts improves your status is penalty enough.
