Default Lynn is exclusive to Classic Shaving?

Classic Shaving's website says they "are proud to have retained the exclusive services of Mr. Lynn Abrams."

Vintage Blades says, "We have been fortunate to secure the services of one of the most experienced individuals in the world of straight razor shaving, Lynn Abrams."

Doesn't sound as though Classic really has the "exclusive" they claim, no?

Actually, I think the intent of the classicshaving statement is that they use Lynn exclusively because of his abilities, not that Lynn works for them and them alone. Customers know who honed it 'cause Lynn is all they use....

I'm just speculating, but that's how I read it.....

Lynn is member and founding father of SRP. His SRP name is adjustme69. Send him a PM and ask him: he is a great communicator in my experience.

If that is the case then they need to change that sentence to read, "are proud to have retained the services of Mr. Lynn Abrams exclusively." Big difference!

Hey I'm just busting here. I could care less who works for who exclusively. It's ridiculous humor!

It's in the interest of the vendor to make it sound ambiguous and as if they have exclusive rights etc. Makes them sound as if you can't get this elsewhere.

It's probably up to the competitors to set this straight, perhaps through Lynn making Classic Shaving aware of this ambiguity. A statement like...

"We only use the honing services of the esteemed expert Mr. Lynn Abrams for sharpening your straight razors."

sounds much clearer and leaves no doubt.

In my experience, Classic Shaving is nothing if not upstanding, and wouldn't intentionally make any of their statements ambiguous. I think this just happens to be a case where it could be taken two ways, but is probably not phrased as best as it could be.

In this case, I'd give Classic Shaving, and all SRP vendors actually, the benefit of the doubt. They have proved time and again to be really very classy, and have all gone out of their way to provide the best information and service available, IMO.

It's not a lie, just unclear. AND it's great marketing.
