    Default Rust!

My Dovo carbon is 4 months old and I noticed rust starting where the blade meets the pin/scales. How to dry area that properly and store after use?

Firstly, try not to get it wet. If you do, I would use a hair dryer on medium heat and dry the area well. When you're done shaving, dry the razor with TP or a towel, some then strop. Keep the razor in the 90 degrees open position for a few hours in the open (i.e. not in a drawer) to ensure that it's properly dried. Try to store the razor outside of the bathroom, or in an area of the bathroom that isn't subject to humidity.

You could also try to oil (camelia, mineral, 3-in-1) the hinge pin area after use.

    Good luck,

    Mark

I'd add Clippercide and Tuf-Glide to the list, too.

    It happens very quickly.

I left a TI carbon steel razor to dry after an alcohol wipe this morning. When I got home....

I had some small light rust spots on it. Some maas and mineral oil fixed the problem, but if you store your razor(s) in the bathroom, be sure to coat them with some type of protection between uses.

I put my boker in my washbag just for the duration of a flight from POland to London(2hrs) and when I shaved I noticed that I had lovely orange stripes just from the residual water in the brush. It didn't even feel wet.
Now I am very careful to keep everything dry.
