Another tip for blade handling when you don't require extreme and delicate control (examples: buffing, sanding) buy a pair of thin kevlar gloves sold most commonly in sporting goods stores and used to protect against cuts while cleaning fish. They cost approx $20.
Hearing of your deep cut makes me want to look harder in my tackle boxes since I've only found one of my two kevlar gloves. I want to wear BOTH!!!!
