    Hi WelshWarrior,

    Here in New Zealand barbers are not allowed to use reusable straights for health and safety reasons and have to use a shavette style razor.
    But as Bart observed they never seem to change the blade between customers so the purpose is automatically defeated.
    We do have a good tattoo parlour on Queen Street(Aucklands main street) that uses tattoo machines that have needles permanently fixed in(custom made,old school rotary machines) and they are permitted to use a sterilizing liquid bath to store the machines in between customers so I guess that barbers could use the same but they would then have to learn to hone and strop
