    Default First Aid Forum??

Maybe we need one....I could probably keep it busy...

Just finished trying to shave with a new razor I had just touched up on a stone and strop and in going to close it decided to flick it closed (heck, I'm not sure as I sit here how I actually managed to do this) and slicked into the skin of the third finger of my right hand. Bled like the proverbial stuck pig.

First I tested to make sure I hadn't damaged the tendon, which luckily I hadn't, then applied peroxide, then wrapped in a waterproof bandage and some tape. After the bleeding appeared to stop, I uncovered it and applied cyrocyanate (super glue) to the seam and refreshed the bandages. All seems well but it was one heck of a wakeup call. I actually thought I had been paying close attention during my shaving ritual, but clearly I had not. Another lesson learned.

It is extremely important to handle the blade with the
utmost care, which would preclude `flicking'.

Good to hear that you're alright, I'm sure the conver-
sation at the ER would have been interesting.
