Thread: Razor manufactures List!!!!!

I am trying to compile a registry of Razor manufactures for my own & SRP’s use.
I am finding it very interesting seeing manufacturers of Razor boxes, horn scale pressers, Strop makers & razor sharpeners. I am now having a problem with a couple of terms “Razor Manager” & “Razor Smith” I have seen “Razor Manager”
Coincide with a famous maker but I have tried to search on the terms & not found an answer.
I suspect that 1 or 2 SRP members will have books on razors & may know what the terms mean. All help gratefully received.

i cannot help you with those terms but here is an interesting bit i found on sheffield a while back. it ia a bit of a read and has lots of useless information

I really can't help you either but most people think when they see say a W&B they assume the entire razor was manufactured lock, stock and barrel by that company. In fact few if any razors were entirely made by that manufacturer. many companies bought razor blanks and just did the grinding and sharpening. many companies specialized in scales, blanks, razor boxes and various steps in the fabrication process.

Thanks for that You have helped me to decide to include them in the list, it wont be much extra work anyway.
