    Default Post 1000 from me

    Gentle people,
I'm taking the opportunity of this post, number 1000 for me, to this great forum to say a heartfelt thank you to one and all.

First and foremost, I salute Lynn on founding such a unique and generous site, that is so much like a family, that even though we sometimes squabble we still all work together to improve the site and the shaving experiences for our fellow shavers.

Secondly, our fine group of administrators and moderators, they do the thankless job of keeping the site up and running, except months named January.... As well occasionally, sending one of us to the timeout room, when we really misbehave.

Thirdly, I wish to thank all the vendors who help make this site possible and free as well as adding their unique expertise to our experience. They are not limited to the following but these are the ones I have used and can personally attest to concerning their integrity, Jim at Vintage Blades, Will at Classic Shaving, Tony at The Well Shaved Gentleman and let us not for get our Soapmistress, Colleen at The Gentlemen’s Quarter.

Fourthly, our honemeisters, we have quite a few budding ones but I must mention the ones who have honed blades for me or sold me pre-honed razors. Lynn, Glen (Flanny), Chris (C Utz), David (Heavydutysg135), Gary (Traveller), Iwan (Steelforge) and Gary (Garythepenman). While I can sharpen a blade and get a great shave with it you gents take it up an order of magnitude! Please, keep up the great work and efforts to expand the brotherhood.

Finally, the assembled company of straight razor user, thank you! While I have not always agreed with some of you and some I have never agreed with, the spirit and dedication as well as passion that you all show in reviving this dying art is an amazing thing. If we all keep at this our grandchildren will not be considered "weird straight razor users"! They will be the norm once again.

Gentle people, I hope that in these first 1000 posts some of you may have found something helpful... I plan to keep posting until everybody has found something useful.

OK the Kleenex is over on the coffee table, there is beer in the fridge, single malts and cognacs on the bar...

Thank you all, for all the fun!

I'm still fairly new, but I feel very at home in the community. I feel like I should have been holding up my glass while I read that. Well said, and Cheers to you!!

certainly sir!... since you failed to specify the blade material or unit of measurement.. it will be a paper-mache blade and the unit of measure is microns... in fact i had heard this traditions and engaged Mr Williams to this end for considerable time... yours should be arriving any day!
