Thread: StraightRazor shaving in Movies

I was watching the movie Gattaca last night, Ethan Hawke was shaving with a cut throat, now I have a bone to pick.

I hate it when they show guys using straight razors where they drag the razor backwards (its almost the opposite of correct angle, the edge dragging behind the spine) and pretend that it works this way. Couldn't they just get a blunt razor and do it the correct way?

Being a film maker I dislike this lack of authenticity.

There's a barber scene in "The Rounders" that seemed pretty authentic to me. The barber knew what he was doing.
