What's a good read?
G'day . Wondering if anyone could recommend a good book? Anything to do with straight razors, history, steel, Sheffield, anything really that might interest a straight razor user.
Thanks
Brian

This is a good read (albeit quite brief):

The author has an account on SRP, but hasn't posted in a while.

Well, since nobody else has responded yet (Edit: doh! not quick enough lol), I'll throw these out there, though they don't have anything to do with shaving:
Deeper by Jeff Long
Quicksilver by Neal Stephenson
His Dark Materials (series) by Philip Pullman
Quicksilver might be your best bet out of these three. It's hefty, but very interesting as it explores historical fiction around the time period when Isaac Newton and several other great thinkers were growing up and inventing stuff like lenses. It's not dry at all like autobiographies, and the fiction aspect really allows the author to light up the story. Check out the synopsis on Amazon

kind of off topic, but "map of bones" by james rollins.
and "angels and demons" by dan brown. way better then da vinci code!!
but map of bones is the better of the 2. and of course "brave new world"!! the best ever.

+1 on the Quicksilver suggestion, great book. To add another, The Glass Bead Game / Magister Ludi by Hermann Hesse - I don't believe it has razors, but in the spirit of what might interest a straight razor user due to the care and introspection this skill seems to involve.
