    You would say it with a drawn "A" as in the long version of Amen, not the long vowel "A" as in Cake, but more like the "A" in Car, but drawn out a bit (there's 2 of them in there, remember!).
    Yes......his last name was pronounced with the a's drawn out. He was Dutch "bats eyelashes"...... from South Africa.

    I think I only know one oddball word..... "swarpin" .....chuckle. Y'all know what that means ?
