Thread: Shave every day ?

I really don't need to shave every day... but I do it anyway. I find that I start my day in a relaxed state of mind. Its a moment of concentration before the day starts. It's very much Zen-like for me... plus the shave part! But I find that I do get better shaves if I shave once every 3 days. Not because of the beard, but because of the razor... It seems to do a better job if it "rests" 24 to 48 hours.
By the way...what are your serious (RAD free, please...) thoughts on rotation razors, that is, having at least 2 razors for daily use. I ask this a lot, but inconclusively... Does the razor need to rest and naturaly reshape? Some say "myth" some say "better safe than sorry...".
Thanks!

I shave every other day, usually at night. Sometimes I just can't keep my hands of the razor and I shave every day, but this is not too good for my face.
As far as a rotation goes, I just barely got razor number 2 ready, so I don't know yet, but if I remember I'll keep ya posted.

I've been shaving every day since I started in Feb. At first it was to learn, now it's to improve my technique and check my honing. I also like to have each of my razors on my face at least once a week.
I could go every other day, since my beard grows pretty slowly, and if I get a real good shave I have to wait a few extra hours the next day to make a WTG pass worth it.

I shave everyday due to grooming standards at work, but on the weekends, if I am not seeing my girlfriend I will let it grow. Not because I like the stubble, I like to see the stubble removed come monday morning.
As for the razor question, I don't have an answer. I think the main reason for having a rotation in my mind is so that you don't have to strop eeveryday. I have three so I will strop all three and put them away and when I use one I set it aside, and so on until I am out of stropped razors, then I strop all three and start over. I am not a morning person so this helps get time for the morning shave by doing this.

Thanked: 43I'd love to shave every day but due to my sensitive skin only once every two days.

Normally about every 2 days.
Since I do a lot of running, and I hate the feeling of sweaty stubbles.
Have to quit running for some weeks now, due to an injury, and didn't shave for a week, until last night. It's great to see the blade remove it in one pass. I wouldn't try that with a disposable.

Hey Chief, long time no see.
Glad to see you back here.Til shade is gone, til water is gone, Into the shadow with teeth bared, screaming defiance with the last breath.

Thanked: 1I shave with two passes Monday through Friday and then I usually shave in the late afternoon on Saturday, which carries me through the weekend. I do skip a day once in a long while during the week if I'm running late or not seeing outside people. I couldn't do this with a cartridge razor, but with the SR, I really don't start looking stubbily until late in the afternoon on the second day.

Every Day!
Once in a blue moon I'll skip a day (not on purpose), and I do love the shave after my skin gets a breather. but,....I love the shave process so mmuch, I don't like to miss my daily shave.
I will say that the quality of my shaves has gotten much, much better (sometimes I ask myself, "how can that be?"). I believe the reason my shaves have gotten so much better is a combination of a lot of things: improved edges(honeing), I have aquired some really nice razors, better lathering techniques, and improved shaving technique, etc.. I can do a three pass shave, acheive BBS with absolutely no weepers or irritation.
I'd do it 2 or 3 times if I could!
Yea, I'm really hooked.
