Thanks, Don. I'm truly honored to be the first one posting here and I'm thrilled you're giving this a go!

I've done my intro elsewhere, but I'll gladly give it again here. I've always been interested in straight razors, starting from the first time I saw one of the old relics in my dad's sock drawer that belonged to a relative long passed. My father used to shave with one when I was really young, but moved on to the quick and easy disposables as many men did. I find the artistry in the actual blades and scales to be quite beautiful, as do I find the art of the perfect shave (or trying to attain) to be a beautiful thing. It's a ritual I don't want to see lost.

I'm fortunate enough to have met a seasoned veteran in the world of straight razors who is willing to teach me to shave without maiming. I'm super excited as I'd like for this ability to be something special I can give to others, in the way of a nice relaxing shave, or to teach others when I'm competent to do so. I'd also like to use straights to give myself a closer shave, as the Venus just doesn't cut it these days .

I've recently purchased a Wade Butcher spike and I'm looking at other purchases. I'm definitely interested in learning honing techniques, as well as all other forms of maintenance. Although I'm new to SRP, I've found it to be a wealth of information beyond imagination. Thank you all.

I'm 31/F... and a Gemini... sorry, just being hokey. I'm excited to read about and meet other women who find themselves in this world of straight razors, so please JOIN IN!

    Thanks again, SRP!

Great post if women would realize how much better it is for there skin. So many women spend tons of money on creams to keep there legs smooth but do not realize it is how they are shaving that is causing most of the problems, same with us guys we just do not talk about it but straight shaving makes our faces smoother and healthier.

    Afternoon Ladies,

Well Viola, so far it's me and you sweetpea. I'm not sure how much I can contribute about shaving because I am fair skinned, with fine hair......so I've been blessed with fine hair elsewhere too....lol.

Shaving is just shaving to me. However I REALLY do like to use the shaving brush on my legs for simple reason that it FEELS GOOD. I stand on my feet at least 10 hours or more a day, and it seems to help my muscles relax in the evening.

I've never had any difficulties with shaving....... I love straight razors, simply because I love straight razors....well that, and I love men too.... I like the world of men, and have always been more at home with men than with a group of women.

You know....the neighborhood tomboy.....that'd be me

Well, I don't shave. I did the laser hair removal years ago and it was probably the best thing I have ever done for myself.. I no longer have to worry about not being groomed.. (in that way anyway ;-) ) So I really don't know what I would have to offer here, but I want to post here anyway because I am so excited that Don let us do this!

Thank you Don! This means an aweful lot to me!! Hello Ladies! Woohoooooo!!
