Thread: Would you recommend any shaving shops along this European cruise?

I'm heading on a European cruise in the next couple of weeks and thought it could be interesting to pick up some shaving - uh - "souvenirs". Can any members recommend any shops in or near the following ports?

Seville - Where the barber is from, yes?

Well, I can only speak to your final destination, London. But...

Truefitt & Hill -- St James Street. Nearest tube: Green Park. Go for a shave there, it's excellent (but costly), but then you are supposedly being shaved by the same people who shave the Royal family (and I DON'T mean the Queen's coochie ).

DR Harris is opposite T&H, so also worth a visit (but no razors of course). And the whole area is worth walking around afterwards -- Buckingham Palace is around the corner, St James Park, Caviar House, The Ritz... it's truly a different world.

Trumpers is probably worth visiting too but I have yet to check it out myself.

Taylors of Old Bond St is also worth a visit. I was there only a few weeks ago.

It's located in 74 Jermyn Street and not Old Bond Street as you would think from the name.

Nearest tube station is Piccadilly Circus.

I agree however, that London(at a price) is the place for shaving gear. In Italy, you can pick up Proraso products from the local supermarket. Livorno has typical Italian prices but the supermarkets are a little away from the port.

I was reading of one guy's trip to Mastro Livi's shop in Italy. I would love to visit and see how they make razors of fine quality in some old world fashion.

I think wet shaving is still very popular in the warmer european countries. Ive heard of loads of creams from turkey, and , I think Greece too IIRC.

When your in London try Trumpers first as their prices seem to be more reasonable & they now stock a small selection of Thier Issard razors.
Both shops are in jerymn street not far from Piccadily circus.Paul

Thanks guys, I've got 3 days in London - so I should have plenty of time to do some shopping there. I'm still going to hope to find a blade in Seville - because that's just too perfect!
