Thanked: 328Downtown San Diego
I'll be in Downtown San Diego all next week.. Are there any good shaving shops down there? I need to re-stock on soaps, colognes, etc..

None that I know of offhand, as most of the knife and tobacco stores seem to have disappeared! C.A. Antilles Trading Co. is on Adams avenue in the university heights area! They are the people who import the Dominican Bay Rum!
Here is there website:http://www.calantilles.com/

I used to work in Downtown San Diego and don't know of any shaving related stores worth visiting.

Thanked: 79I was stationed in San Diego for several years and didn't find any real shaving related places either. The mall used to have a L'Occitane and a Crabtree&Evelyn, and if you drive up to La Jolla the mall there has AOS at the Neiman Marcus, but you're pretty on your own. The Menlos (sp?) cutlery in the mall downtown has a few straights (Dovo or Col. Conk) overpriced and Conk soap, not a lot of stuff.
Old town sometimes has soap, and just outside oldtown if you are walking there is a place that has soaps-I got Pre-de Provence there as well as Caswell Massey
but nothing especially good. I had to mail order most of the stuff I bought.
