    Default Scaleless Straight Blades

Anyone know where I could get shaped, sharpened straights without scales?

I noticed that there was some scale-less blades in the bst section. They aren't shave ready, but will make good shavers.

Outside of custom made blades I have rarely seen them on Eboy but why not just get razors with cheap plastic scales and just trash them.

do they have to be sharpened? handling a honed razor without scales is a bit risky.. and i think shipping would destroy the edge anyhow.

I just recently saw two lots of scaleless blades on Feebay, but I don't think they were sharp. Prolly ended as well, I usually don't bother to look more than 24 hours ahead.

Someone posted about using a bit of cardboard and those black clippy things to protect a blade without scales. Seemed like a good idea to me.

I've been getting ones w/cheepo scales and then trashing them or using as templates. I just figured there might be a cheaper way by getting just the blades, cuz some of them with junk scales still cost $$$$. Do you guys know if the custom blade makers sell just blades at any sort of discount?

I would think since they are custom you could get them any way you want. Of course the blades wouldn't be cheap anyway. I would contact some of the guys first starting out here without the reps that's where you could do the best.
