Default Here badger, badger... maybe not

Not sure where to post this but here is as good as any. Mods if you want to move it please feel free to do so.

Tonight my wife and I were driving into Tucson, I was the third car in line. All of a sudden the lead car swerves to the right, the car in front of me hits the brakes to which I replied by quickly doing as well. Before I can even finish thinking " what are these idiots doing now" a BADGER, yes a real live one runs across the road.
Luckily we all miss him, I looked at my wife and said "hey there goes a new brush, on all fours" would ya know she looks at me and says "well it is pure badger..." Pure heck, that was Pure, Best, Super, and Silvertip all in one and on the lamb. He was big and waddled across the road. Since I drive a little 3 cyl Geo Metro she figured that if I went after him, he would have torn the car to pieces just to show me who was boss and then started on me. I only wanted a "little" bit of hair.
Of course I thought about just grabbing his tail whipping up some lather and shaving right there on the side of the road. Then I thought about what it would be like to hold an upset badger in my hand.... not a pretty picture.
We figured that it could be a new type of automatic razor and lather maker. If you take his tail and swish it through some soap you could use his mouth as a lather bowl, I'm sure it would be open. It might even keep it hot. His claws would probably be the equivalent of a nice wedge and I'm sure they would be sharp enough. With all the thrashing around it should be like holding one of those battery powered M3's. Of course with the "nicks" you would most likely encounter, you might bleed to death. Any one want to try?

Well unfortuneately I dont have a bunch of new brushes but it was pretty cool seeing him. Too bad the camera was at home
Welcome to the neighborhood Mr. Badger

I think badgers are awesome, they look so cool. Have you seen the vid of one stealing a snakes meal , eating it, then killing and eating the snake? What a badass animal. Sometimes i feel bad about using their fur for brushes just cuz i like em.
How big was it? like a fat cat size, bigger? Ive never seen one up close...

They are cool animals, with an extra large attitude... he was longer and had a larger girth than a cat. He did have stubby little legs. Made it look like he was waddling... This is only the second one I've seen in this area in about the last 15 years

i have seen a few badgers back when i lived in ohio, they are definatley cool but not an animal that i would want to run into if it was having a bad day. as far as their hair goes do they just shave them and let em go or do they actually kill the animal for it?

Badgers are killed for their hair, sinnfein. Badger hair mostly comes from China where these animals are a plague and are eaten, too

@Bob: Very cool story, I'd like to see a real badger too

We used to have a badger set in the field beside our back garden. watching their antics at night was a constant source of amusement. Take my advise though if you get up close and personal with one step aside and let it pass, either that or run screaming for the hills - them there be vicious critters and can do you serious harm !

But, not as larger attitude as my old BMW at 60 mph. Mr Badger ran straight out in front of me, I didn't swerve or brake hard (I'm not crashing for the sake of a good shaving brush) bump went the front wheel, bump went the rear wheel, I looked in my rear view mirror Mr Badger was laying in the road behind me, he lifted his head in defiance, then it flopped to the floor.
Mr Badger had j-walked his last. And the sod took out my lower bumper (us = fender) too!
Bugger, I was trying to sell the car.
Maybe thats why I love a badger brush - REVENGE
