One of my crew trained as a barber aeons ago. He told me that was a hazing routine they did to you upon graduation... They put shaving cream in the balloons ...for when you inevitably popped them.

Thank you for posting that picture, Dioni. It's hard to tell, but it almost looks like that barber trainee was starting a pass with the edge perpendicular to the balloon! Ouch!
