HOW DID SRP START? I want to know the history of it all!!
Hello again,
I've been searching and searching for information on how this site came to be. Who started it, where, why, how, and who were the first to really rediscover the ART? I'm very curious!
One more quesition if that lots was not enough
does anyone know any links or sites for videos that show SR leg shaving? I have watched load of the face shaving ones, but would absolutely LOVE to see a leg shaving one!
(Been getting ready watching and reading because I have some shaving gear on its way!!yey. )

The person you are looking for is Lynn. He started all this and is the driving force that keeps pushing for the whole world to use straights...LOL

OK briefly, this site came about after Al gore invented the INTERNET. before that it was and still is a yahoo user group which according to my email still gets a fair amount of interest.
Lynn Abrams is the man responsible for the yahoo group and this Site. he was the original owner and is now in partnership with Don Addlerbrook (sp?) here and at www.straightrazordesign.com they through generosity and perseverance have made this site the open and "civilized" site you see now.
As for the lost art of straight razor shaving, it really was not lost just hidden from view... i have used a straight razor since the 1970's as my father and his father and on back did. however the owners of the site reside inthe capital of american straight shaving.... medina, ohio
Lynn, though, brought it into the open and onto the net... if memory serves all the other wet shaving groups are offshoots of here and the yahoo group....
slap me if i am wrong...

Hi Pearl, welcome to the world of straight shaving. To answer your first question, CoachMike is correct, Lynn Abrams is the driving force behind Straight Razor Place and keeping Straight Razor shaving alive.

In answer to your second question, I'm not sure of any videos of leg shaving with a straight, but if I know some of these guys on here, they also would love to see one as well.

and back on the original topic... After the ice age, when they discovered and thawed Lynn out, he was appauled to see how backwards modern man had become.
Pulling their facial hair out with strange buzzing plastic boxes, or shaving with cheaply made wire thin blades set in pink colored plastic...
Fortunately he was from a more civilized age, and he knew the solution.
and as Syslight said thanks to Al Gore he had a way to spread the good word.It's all true, I swear it...
Seriously, Syslight's version is what I understand to be true, many of us would not be using straights, or would still be struggling if it weren't for the hard work of Mr. Lynn Abrams.
