Default Finally got a good gash...

So, I finally got a good gash today and I wasn't even shaving!

I was sanding down a bit of rust that had developed on a razor I just recently descaled and was planning on rescaling. It was shave ready before I started, but of course I figured I'd rehone when I was done the rescale...

Anyhow, long story short, I wasn't being careful enough (sanding too fast in an effort to get it done right away, chop chop) my hand slipped and I wound up runining my middle finger tip across the length of the nicely honed blade. Let me tell you, it bled and bled...

So I just got back from the hospital, getting my tetnis (tettenis? Tecnis? You know what the hell I mean, the rusty metal shot. :P) booster. I was pretty embarassed to go to the hospital for a cut finger, so I kept refusing treatment for the finger, I really just wanted the shot, but they wouldn't let me leave before cleaning the cut out.

The funny thing is, the cut didn't hurt when I did it and doesn't hurt now. It's pretty deep, it bled like crazy, but no pain. So let this be two lessons to you all, be careful when you're sanding and keep your razors sharp, that way they may do more damage but it will hurt less.

I almost always tape the edges when sanding. Hope you get well soon. And slow down dude!

    Default Hmm

You know, Doc, I never even thought of taping the edge. Now that you mention it, that's one hell of a good idea.

Yes, that and slowing down to the rate of a sensible human being. :P

As for the finger, I'll be fine. It stopped bleeding on it's own after a while and it's causing me no pain.

    Thanks for the well wishes.
