Traveller rocks
Yesterday, I received a package from Port Isabel in Texas; I think that there is no need to tell you who sent it to me and what it contained... or maybe... just for the pleasure of writing it: Gary (aka Traveller) sent me a razor... no A razor... or better a RAZOR... maybe even THE razor!
This is some kind of review of what came into my mailing box and an acknowledgement for everybody here to see/read of the great services Gary is providing.
First I never received a razor so well packed: two layers of bubble wrap thing, two plastic bags were protecting the precious, one another the "original" set of scale, everything wrapped in another plastic bag with a warning and advices note, an invoice resume and a complete detailed justification of the purchase.
Joined to the rescaled razor and the "original" scales was another set containing an adjustable pin, nuts and washers to be used with the original scales - if I wanted to use them on another blade - and the wrench to adjust the pivot; yes, you read me well, Gary even added the WRENCH to make the task of adjusting the pivot pin easier.
The guaranties provided by Gary would frighten the more skilled maker-seller: the razor will be refund if she is not as described, or if you don't like her looks "in person"; and he is also giving a lifetime free honing and reconditioning policy - you just have to pay the postage both ways.
The razor, a Joseph Rodgers 6/8 barber notch hollow ground (I think 3/4) has amber with gold accents custom scales and comes shave ready. She is just beautiful! She will be well placed along the W&Bs I purchased from Gabor (aka Buddel) and their wonderful wood scales.
I shaved this morning with this beauty and it was a really enjoyable and unique experience; this razor is one of the best I have ever tried. Whiskers-killing sharp but nonetheless smooth and comfortable, it gave me a BBS shave without any irritation.
I know the guarantee policy, but... Sorry Gary, I will NOT ship her back to you...
Now three nice pictures - taken by my wife who is a far better photographer than I am - of the Joseph Rodgers, for you to enjoy; and a warning: please step away from your keyboard, drooling may occur without even being conscious of it...
Thank you very much Gary

Congratulations. Gary's level of service I believe is truly the measure that all others could/should aspire to. He's unequaled AFAIC. Unless he stopped doing it, you forgot to mention Gary's offer to trade in a razor purchased from him at any time (provided it's in returnable condition) for a more expensive upgrade. The entire purchase price of the first razor applied to the upgrade.

The razor looks great Ockham. I agree with the reviews. Gary's service is excellent. I was blown away by the new scales he put on my razor. Pictures don't do them justice. They are extremely solid with a satisfying heft.

I agree with all the good things said here about Gary. I have had the pleasure to recieve one of his razors and not only is the work impeckable, but the quality of the human being behind the work is second to none. Gary is a true gentleman in every sense of the word. I hope to be able to have the priviledge of obtaining another blade from this man in the VERY near future.
