No response from classified purchase
If something is payed for and confirmed in our classified section, what repercussions should be taken for no response/no delivery. I ordered something, payed in full, and received Paypal confirmation. I haven't received the package or any notice that it's been shipped. I have sent a couple of emails and tried to contact via SRP PM, but I haven't received any response yet (it's been 4 or 5 days). I don't want to tarnish anyone's reputation if there are legitimate reasons for delays, but I wonder what the policy is for this, etc.

I don't know the policy in that precise case, but maybe you would like to drop a pm to ByronTodd or Bruno; you can find the general guidelines here: http://straightrazorpalace.com/rules...icies-faq.html
Hope you'll be able to solve your problem.

Personally I would give it a little longer. 4 days is like a long weekend. Maybe someone went on a vacation with no computer and honestly forgot to let you know before he/she left. It's possible. It could also be in the mail shipped first class and take like 7 days to get to you. I agree not hearing from the seller is annoying to say the least, but that's why some of us have positive feedback stars next to our names in the classifieds!

The general policy is that you must work out problems amongst yourselves. You didn't indicate whether it was 5 days or so from communication or purchase. Either way you need to give people more time. I've bought things off Eboy and waited 2-3 weeks before delivery. If you are really being ripped off then contact one of the mods or super mods and we'll look into it.

Thanked: 3164I'm with the bigspendur - everyones wants everything in a hurry these days. I usually wait a week or so before making an enquiry. I sell a lot on Ebay and have had people asking where their item is the next day. An extreme example, I know, but not that uncommon in my experience. You just have to be patient a bit longer - you paid via PayPal, so their much-vaunted buyer-protection should help you recover your money in the worst-case scenario. But don't ask me about PayPal...

Claytor, in over 300 ebay purchases using Paypal (plus my purchases on this site) I have had to file for refunds from Paypal just twice. The first time was when ebay didn't own Paypal and the notification and refund policies were contradictory (ebay wouldn't let you file until 30 days after purchase, and Paypal required a request notice within 30 days). In the first case I received my money from Paypal within 1 day. In the second case I got a shipping notification from the seller the next day. Paypal has some pretty strong teeth in their bite. I generally give about 2 weeks to hear from the seller, then try to contact them. If nothing heard within another 10 days, or so, I contact Paypal.
