Default No response from classified purchase

If something is payed for and confirmed in our classified section, what repercussions should be taken for no response/no delivery. I ordered something, payed in full, and received Paypal confirmation. I haven't received the package or any notice that it's been shipped. I have sent a couple of emails and tried to contact via SRP PM, but I haven't received any response yet (it's been 4 or 5 days). I don't want to tarnish anyone's reputation if there are legitimate reasons for delays, but I wonder what the policy is for this, etc.

I don't know the policy in that precise case, but maybe you would like to drop a pm to ByronTodd or Bruno; you can find the general guidelines here: http://straightrazorpalace.com/rules...icies-faq.html

Hope you'll be able to solve your problem.

Personally I would give it a little longer. 4 days is like a long weekend. Maybe someone went on a vacation with no computer and honestly forgot to let you know before he/she left. It's possible. It could also be in the mail shipped first class and take like 7 days to get to you. I agree not hearing from the seller is annoying to say the least, but that's why some of us have positive feedback stars next to our names in the classifieds!

The general policy is that you must work out problems amongst yourselves. You didn't indicate whether it was 5 days or so from communication or purchase. Either way you need to give people more time. I've bought things off Eboy and waited 2-3 weeks before delivery. If you are really being ripped off then contact one of the mods or super mods and we'll look into it.

I'm with the bigspendur - everyones wants everything in a hurry these days. I usually wait a week or so before making an enquiry. I sell a lot on Ebay and have had people asking where their item is the next day. An extreme example, I know, but not that uncommon in my experience. You just have to be patient a bit longer - you paid via PayPal, so their much-vaunted buyer-protection should help you recover your money in the worst-case scenario. But don't ask me about PayPal...

    Default Thanks for the advice

I do understand about giving someone time. Just to clarify it's been almost two weeks (this Sunday I believe) since I paid and five days since I first contacted to get notification of delivery.

If it's been 2 weeks and you haven't heard a thing, I would file a paypal claim. More than likely if this was intentional by the seller they probably cleaned out their paypal account and you won't get your money back anytime soon. 2 weeks is a long time.

Several folks over at B&B recently went through the same thing. Hopefully it wasn't something too expensive.

Did the seller have a high post count ? That would indicate that he is a regular and less likely to be a stiff. I would go to his screen name and click on it . The menu that appears includes something like "find all posts by ". Then you can see how long ago the seller accessed the forum to post. If he hasn't posted within the last week perhaps his PC is down. Good luck, I hope you get your item in Monday's mail.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

If you dealt with an "ACTIVE" member from SRP, I'm sure everything is alright and there is an explanation for not answering your PM's. Lately there have been , lets say , very new members posting in the classifieds, those I won't say anything about since there is no history with us here, but lets also say I would be leary of dealing with one of them seeing VERY low post counts , if any at all, and then they just come in here to sell their wares.
Just my 0.02...sorry , I don't mean this to be harsh towards anyone.
